Did you know that:
- I can only eat a banana if it's sliced?
- I always have to slice off and throw away the top layer of a new block of cheese?
- I always have to rinse my glass before pouring something in to it?
- I always have to go through my "get ready" routine in the morning in the same order?
- I always have to eat the bottom of the Reece's peanut butter cup first?
This may sound like OCD tendencies, but I prefer to call them little quirks. We all have them. Let me ask you: Do you have to sort M&Ms before you eat them? Do you count the steps while going up or down a flight of stairs? Does the volume on the TV have to be on an even number? Or maybe an odd number? Do you park in the same spot? Do all your blinds have to be closed in the same direction? Do you check and re-check the doors after locking them? Do you organize your clothes by color? Do you end your gas charges on an even cent?
Well, like I said we're all quirky. Isn't it wonderful? I think it makes for a much more interesting world.

I'll admit to some OCD tendencies. I tend to alphabetize everything for instance, and yes my closet is arranged by color.
Oh this will be a lot more fun if I enumerate all the quirks of my husband instead of me....
Pie always:
Has to make his food pretty. Never just slapping his food down on the plate and digging in. Oh no. Pancakes must be stacked three high (and must be all the same diameter) and syrup must then be poured between each one. Same with waffles. You really don't want to be in line after him when he is making a burrito or taco. He makes three at a time and the ingredients must all go on in order.
Sings out his yawns. Makes me batty.
Must meticulously groom himself. If we are in a tremendous hurry, he cannot do a quick job brushing his teeth or throwing on clothes. No. He still brushes for 3 full minutes and still carefully gets dressed.
Wants to play CD's of classical music while we are getting ready for Church. It's wonderful to shout at the children to hurry up over the strains of Puccini.
Has to arrange his vast collection of T-shirts by color. His closet is as neat as a pin. You would think all this fixation on neatness would spill over into where he puts his work/church/bike items, but no. He is pretty slobby around the house, but his closet is immaculate.
He does a lot of OCD stuff in his head, like reading things forward and backward all the time, but thankfully that stuff is silent.
Anything else? I'm sure I'll think of more things later.....
